Is it still realistic to grow a new blog with google traffic alone?

If i was starting today, I would not depend only on Google. I would still do seo, but would also try to build traffic from places like pinterest or social media from the beginning. It feels a lot safer than relying on one source.

Relying on Google alone is getting more risky, specially for brand new blogs. It seems better to treat Google like just one traffic source , while you also build a following through channels such as Pinterest, YouTube, social media, or even an email list starting from day one. That diversified traffic approach feels more stable and it makes your blog grow quicker.

if you are starting on a fresh domain you are basically signing up for a 6-month sandbox minimum unless you use an expired domain with a clean history. if you want google traffic fast nowadays without waiting a year, you either do parasite seo on high authority platforms or you buy traffic to test conversion first. building a brand new site from scratch and hoping for organic search from day one is a slow death. pick one platform like reddit or pinterest to get immediate eyeballs while your domain ages, otherwise you'll burn out before google even indexes half your pages.

Blogs remain the primary traffic driver across almost all niches. I do believe there are traffic opportunities here, but the key is nailing down the right keywords or your core topic, and mapping them against the SERP. If you don't see any blogs in the SERPs, I wouldn't recommend pursuing it.

I would still work on Google seo, but I would not rely on it as the only traffic source. If I was starting today, i would try to build an audience on at least one other platform from the beginning. It just feels like a safer approach.
