Something interesting I've noticed in 2026 Instagram and LinkedIn are starting to feel very similar.
Here's what I mean:
Both now heavily push short-form video content
Both reward personal storytelling over brand content
Both have declining organic reach unless you post consistently
Both are pushing users toward paid ads to reach followers
The differences that still matter:
Instagram = B2C, lifestyle, visual-heavy audiences
LinkedIn = B2B, professional services, higher ticket clients
LinkedIn engagement still feels more genuine and less saturated
Instagram has more volume but lower conversion for services
My question to BHW members:
Are you using either platform for client acquisition?
Which one gives better ROI for digital marketing services?
Or have you completely abandoned both for SEO traffic?

They are becoming similar in some ways especially with personal branding and shortform content but the audience intent is different
Instagram is better for lifestyle, visual brands creatorsand impulse attention. LinkedIn is better for B2B serviceshiring, consulting, and higherticket offers.

Yes, I think the people wanted to be entertained in both channels.

I'm mostly using LinkedIn for client acquisition, I'm in pest control.

I would choose LinkedIn because the audience at linkedin is more business-focused. Even if you get fewer leads from linkedin they usually have better quality. Instagram is still helpful but I have found that it works better for brand awareness rather than finding clients.
