Is it still realistic to grow a new blog with google traffic alone?

I'm planning to start a new blog from scratch, but almost every niche seems competitive now. for those who have launched blogs recently, is relying mainly on Google traffic still a realistic strategy or should new bloggers focus on building audiences through other platforms from day one?

Google is still boot licking the authority sites. Most new sites are relying heavily on AI tools and social media marketing. It's not wise to rely only on Google that outright favours established sites over new ones.

I think it was still possoble but slower than it used to be. Google traffic can work if you get target undeserved topics and stay conssitent but i would not rely on one source anymore. Building some traffic from social, email or communities alongside SEO is a safer approach.

started a blog last year and honestly relying on google alone would have killed it early. the first 6 months google barely sent me anything, it was pinterest and a small niche subreddit keeping me alive while the site aged.

what i'd add is don't spread yourself too thin across every platform either. pick one or two where your audience actually hangs out and go deep. i wasted weeks on linkedin posting stuff nobody cared about because it just wasnt the right crowd for my niche.

google still works but treat it as the long game now. you plant it and it pays off in year 2, not month 2. email list is the one thing i wish i started day one... thats traffic you actually own and nobody can deindex it on a whim.

I think it is still possible, but you should not reply on google alone. Google can take months to deliver meaningful traffic. Nowadays, social platforms like reddit, quora, facebook and linkedin can help bring visitors much faster while your blog grow organically.

trafic coming from google alone is still working, although at a slower pace and not as reliable as it was before. the website showing fast growth rates use seo along with another source of trafic besides google (reddit, pinterest or email).

I wouldn't rely on Google alone anymore. My advice is to create an audience from day one using platforms your target users already hang out on and work on SEO in the background. That way you’re not dependent on one source of traffic and growth tends to be more stable.

Google traffic is reallistic but only if you write about personal experiences or original data that AI can not copy. for fast growth, it is best to pair your SEO with pinterest.

google outright favors established domains now, making pure seo a very slow game. just let seo run in the background and drive your initial traffic from social media and communities from day one.

google alone as the sole strategy is rough now, too many algo swings and ai overviews eating clicks even when you rank
building an email list or social presence from day one gives you traffic that isn't at google's mercy

Totally agree! You should always have other sources of traffic like Pinterest for example!

Yes it's still possible but relying only on google is slow & risky, new blogs can grow with seo but it takes time & updates can hit anytime, better approach use google and one extra source, that way you grow faster and stay safer

But there is still trafic from google, yet it just takes longer now. the blog that are expanding fastst are getting a following somewher else and at the same time developing their seo.

Yes, it's still possible, but relying only on Google is much riskier than it used to be. I'd treat organic search as one channel and build an email list or social presence alongside it from the beginning.

Google can still bring traffic to new blogs, but I wouldn't depend on it alone. Search rankings take time, and algorithm updates can be unpredictable. It's smarter to create SEO-friendly content while also building an audience through platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, or an email list. Having multiple traffic sources gives your blog a much better chance to grow steadily.

I was also looking for the answer to this question for a long as I am also going to start my own blog. After so many research I finally understood that google can bring traffic but we have to build proper SEO and some strong backlinks with quality contents.

I would diversify from day one, relying only on google is much risk than it used to be.

I think it's still possible but I wouldnt rely on Google alone Building traffic from search while also growing an audience through email or social platforms creates a much stronger long term strategy.

Yes, it is possible but Google traffic alone takes time especially in competitive niches. Most new blogs grow better when they combine SEO with another channel like social media or communities from day one.

from what i have seen relying only on google is much riskier now i would still optimize for search but also build traffic from email newsletters and social platforms from the beginning having multiple traffic sources makes growth more stable and reduces dependence on algorithm changes
