Can Monero replace Bitcoin in long term?

I still can’t fully wrap my head around Monero tbh. If there was a simpler version of it, I’d definitely use it. It just feels too complex for me right now.

Monero cannot replace Bitcoin , Bitcoin is "digital gold," while Monero is merely an anonymity tool.

Both btc and xmr have totally different usecases, they’re not eachothers competition. BTC will always stay on top, the % of total market dominance is too high for any alt to topple it.

Bitcoin is "THE CONTROL" of crypto. The behemoths of economy hold gold, crypto & fiat under controled supervision. Bitcoin is not going anywhere. Watch history and see how much investment has been made in Bitcoin by world's economic behemoths.

Invest in monero becuase of your trading skill and not because of some emotional influence

it absolutely can and will replace bitcoin! Who wants the government policing their funds. The whole point of crypto is how monero works. As well as the fact theres no hope so far of them cracking it while privacy coins like zec have been taken some reputational hits. When in doubt buy Monero!

Monero is a really good money, but because of its privacy features it is heavily regulated, which means it will never (or in the foreseeable future) get the same adoption and branding as Bitcoin.
No need for that as long as atomic swaps and these services exist. :)

I believe Monero (XMR) is everything a crypto currency stands for.

If countries can track your transactions you are not truely a crypto currency. People like bitcoin because it is well adopted by majority, but in a few years, governments will know your BTC wallets and see your transactions.

The real usability of crypto currency is privacy. And this one thing will boost the usage of Monero in every dimension. I know this will also be used for many illegal activities in every major level. But Crypto currency - It is what it is.
We got the same idea I totally agree with this take its what I been saying soon XMR will be the top crypto as the people wake up from the slavery mindset of the government when they start taxing crypto. XMR will be the way now and in the future.

Initially, there was a lot of buzz around Monero but it couldn't reach anywhere near Bitcoin. Moreover, people still use bitcoin as a synonym to cryptocurrency. So, I doubt if Monero could ever replace Bitcoin.
Youll be surprised when the world turns into Tyranny and people want to have self independence. And I mean the world of cryptocurrency people that dont want their crypto taxed into oblivion.

It cannot in my opinion. The most important point in favor of bitcoin is that it is first crypto coin. Majority people think crypto as bitcoin with first thought.

If Bitcoin crashes, all crypto currencies will follow but why Monero needs to replace it and not other coins like BNB, Litecoin or Ethereum?

its impossible, bitcoin would have to drop to zero for that to happen, and that aint happening, monero is good tho

In my opinion, Monero has the potential to replace Bitcoin in the long term.

Bitcoin is no longer truly anonymous and is subject to strict regulations.

Monero and Zcash are the only major cryptocurrencies that are currently still truly anonymous and can practically never be regulated.

Essentially, Monero is today what Bitcoin was in the 2010s.

What do you think about it?
Monero has potential but it cannot replace bitcoin.

Monero replaced Bitcoin on dark web. but it'll never flip BTC in market cap because major exchanges keep delisting it due to regulations.

I think people keep mixing up two different things here. Replacing bitcoin in market cap and being better tech are not the same conversation. Monero is genuinely better for actual private spending, no argument there. But replacing btc means flipping the brand recognition, the liquidity, the institutional money... and thats a whole different mountain to climb.

The delisting point someone made is the real killer imo. You cant become the top coin if half the major exchanges wont touch you because of compliance. Atomic swaps are cool but lets be real, normies are never gonna learn that flow. They want to open coinbase and click buy.

So yeah xmr stays the king of privacy and probably grows as more people get sick of being watched, but flipping btc? nah. Different lanes. Monero wins on principle, bitcoin wins on adoption, and both can be true at once.

Many people have predicted that certain cryptocurrencies could replace Bitcoin, but so far, that hasn't happened. In my opinion, it's extremely difficult to find any coin capable of challenging Bitcoin's dominance, given its strong network effect, widespread adoption, and position as the leading cryptocurrency.

Monero has great privacy protection, but Bitcoin retains dominance.

Monero is a lot superior than Bitcoin technologically and also is the only real private cryptocurrency. I think it would be x100 the price if it wasn't delisted on all major exchanges and had such bad reputation... For me there's no point to use Bitcoin nowadays.
Anyways, time will tell.

XMR will never replace BTC because liquidity and institutional money drive major adoption. Massive privacy means exchanges keep delisting it. If you want anonymity, just use standard BTC and mix it through decentralized protocols or swap to XMR only when transacting. Keep your main bags in BTC for growth.
