If Google removed back-links as a ranking factor.

There's never been a time when Google didn't rely on links. Have a look at the original BackRub document: http://infolab.stanford.edu/~backrub/google.html
Really interesting. So, back-links always be the part of ranking factor Google will not remove it.

Hi,
I want to know your future plans If, Google removed back-links as a ranking factor tomorrow, what would you focus on? Do you have any alternate options?
I will concentrate on mini blogging!
Mini blogging has been a source of organic traffic before the outburst of social media.

If backlinks were removed I’d focus more on brand signals content quality and user engagement metrics. Internal seo would matter a lot more.

What do you class as a 'brand signal' that isn't a third party endorsement (eg. a link or citation)?

If google removes the backlinks from ranking factor completely, i would be looking to hands on is user based experience and also content relevance.
So the competition would be deep enough to get which page is getting likely finding correct answer in deep , related to the question and also satisfies the query.
I will try to make such an ecosystem which is based on more authenticity and should be easy enough to read.
Next option can be to rely on direct traffic. when user know about your site and comes to your website directly.
To make this process easier your website should be very speedy and fast enough what you call it as technical seo, it should be techincal user seo friendly.

i'd go all in on topical authority and internal linking structure, that part stays in your control.
brand signals and direct traffic would matter way more too since google can track that without links

Backlinks are one of the major ranking factors, but not the only one. Still, you can focus on improving the quality of your site's content, appearance, and structure, which Google's Bot analyzes. In the end, for Google, what matters most is what the consumer wants to view or is viewing the most, so you have to make your content and appearance attractive to your audience so that you drive them organically. Furthermore, Google Adwords and other Meta paid promotions are there to bring sessions to your site if you're still not ranking.

If backlinks disappeared as a ranking factor, the focus would shift even more toward real value: content quality, user satisfaction, topical authority, brand trust, technical SEO, and how well a page solves the searcher's problem. Backlinks help, but they are only one signal.

If backlinks were removed seo would shift to what actually helps users, focus on content quality, search intent, internal linking & user signals, also topical authority and brand trust would matter more links boost rankings, but they are not the only thing that works

If google removed back links as a ranking factor,I'd focus on creating high quality content that fully satisfies user intent.I'd work on building topical authority, improving website experience, and strength brand recognition.Direct traffic, user engagement l and content quality would become main priorities for long term seo success.

If backlinks disappeared tomorrow, I will focus on creating best topical content, building a strong brand and improving user experience to earn repeat visitors.
