Hey

I have seen different results when it comes to long form content. Some of my longer articles which is 2000+ words are ranking well but in some niches even shorter, well structured posts are performing better.

It made me wonder if Google still prefers long content or if it is more about answering search intent clearly now. What are you guys experiencing?

Do you still focus on long form articles or mix short and long content depending on the keyword?

For me If a topic can be covered in 800 words, then forcing it to 2,000+ words usually doesn’t add much value.

The nomber of words is not the critical factor here. the more relevant and informative, despite being shorter, your article is compared to others that lack relevance and are stuffed with unnecessary information, the beetter you will succeed.

google still rewards in 2026, that is helpful, complete, original, and satisfies user intent. if an article is long and the content is good it can rank. but if the content is only made longer just to increase the word count, it will not rank.

In my experience, it's much more about matching search intent than word count. I mix short and long content depending on the keyword. If users want a quick answer, a concise, well-structured page often outperforms a 2,000-word article. I only go long when the topic genuinely requires more depth
