I'm thinking about creating websites with ai like claude and sell them to businesses. Is this worth it, and are there other good ways to make money with ai?

What kind of websites and to what businesses would you sell them? Do you have a precise idea about that?

Maybe to like barbershops or like eelectrician, roofer

Creating websites with AI can definitely be worth it if you're selling a complete solution rather than just an AI-generated website. Most businesses don't care how the site is built; they care about getting leads, bookings, or sales. AI helps reduce your production time, but the real money is in finding clients and solving business problems. Other solid AI opportunities include AI automation, chatbots, content services, lead generation, and niche SaaS products.

I think AI creates websites quickly. But making money from them is the real challenge. Solving customer needs is the harder part.

You might have thought about. But that isn't worth shit. What counts is what you have tested and how you can respond to the market. You won't get anyone telling you a magic money tree formula if such a thing exists. Its up to you to take the risk for your idea that only you should have the vision for.

Where you gonna advertise? How much you charge? Do you have packages, with exclusive details of whats in each? How many websites have you built in the past? Do you know what payment gateway you can use? What makes you stand out from the thousands already in the market?

These are the fundamentals.

If you have clients whom you can sell the websites then it is already great , there are many developers with good skills but can't market their skills .

Most of the clients i know does-not want only the front-end (they want a dashboard to manage their website , create content like blog posts , manage SEO) which cannot be achieved by just using claude .

So here what you can do

1) You find clients and offer them a website
2) You can send them a design prototype / wireframe created by lovable / claude etc (or any relevant ai tool)
3) Hire a website developer to clone the design into fully functional website

I do something similar .
Best of luck

I've been in web and digital marketing long enough to see this pattern repeat itself.

People think the money is in the tool. First it was WordPress, then page builders, now it's AI.

The tool changes. The business doesn't.

A local business owner doesn't care if a website was built by Claude, a freelancer, or an agency. They care whether the phone rings.

AI definitely helps you build faster, but faster production doesn't automatically create a business. Getting clients, understanding their problems, and helping them grow is still the hard part.

In my view, AI is best used as a leverage tool, not the business itself.

AI is just a tool. you need to originally have an idea that you could have executed anyway without AI (even though it might take 10 years). AI can also help u to think and discover important variables that you never knew. I use AI for SEO but I already have a product to begin with.

another way is to use AI to generate content on Instagram and FB and generate conversations to build your social capital. but it does not work on its own. u still have to feed it proven working content as a guideline

Building websites with AI can be profitable, but the real value isn't the website itself—it's the business outcome you deliver. Most clients care about generating leads, increasing sales, or attracting more customers, not the tools used to build the site. AI simply helps streamline production and improve efficiency. The bigger opportunity lies in acquiring clients and helping solve real business challenges. Beyond websites, areas like AI automation, chatbots, content creation, lead generation, and niche SaaS solutions also offer strong potential.
