When I had affiiate site I would say biggest mistake is by going to one time purchases (products) worst case since you need all the time traffic.
Better is to do affiliate for tools, membership sites that pay you monthly

I should have scaled it with employees. But I still hope that it would be possible one day. May be some encouragement or push is required from someone.

I think my biggest regret when I started affiliate marketing was rushing in without really understanding the basics.
I kept jumping from one strategy to another because I wanted fast results.
That cost me time and some money testing things I did not fully understand.
If I could go back I would focus more on learning traffic sources and tracking properly before trying to scale.
Now I keep things simple and stick with what actually works.
patience and consistency matter more than chasing every new method that pops up online because most of the progress comes from repetition over time

As a note I'm looking for affiliater 30% recurring commision, SAAS.
Looking for affiliaters who already have visitors in niches for "small businesses, marketing, SEO, AI etc."

Biggest one for me was promoting offers before knowing the numbers. Like I had traffic coming in, some leads, even a few sales, but no proper tracking on which page/keyword/ad angle was actually making money. So I kept “optimizing” the wrong stuff for months lol. Once I started treating every campaign like a small math problem instead of guessing, things moved faster. Also agree with @Zephyrine on recurring offers, one-time commissions feel nice but you are always back hunting fresh traffic.
