Need provider for bulk unique numbers (short-term, SMS both ways)

Hey all,

I'm looking for a provider that can offer a bulk quantity of unique US-based phone numbers for a very short duration (around 48 hours). Numbers need to support both inbound and outbound SMS.

Does anyone know a platform that handles this type of short-term bulk rental? Ideally with an API for provisioning and message handling.

@Fenglai suggested Twilio and Telnyx but honestly they will ban your account in minutes if you start blasting bulk outbound SMS without going through the whole 10DLC registration mess. They got incredibly strict recently.

Since you only need them for 48 hours, you will still have to pay the monthly rental fee per number anyway, but at $1 or less per number it is not a big deal. I used SignalWire for a quick project last month and their API was pretty easy to script for this. Just keep the sending rate low or they will flag it too. What kind of volume are we talking about here?
 
Does SignalWire support receiving messages? I’m not seeing any support in their API docs.

I’d be sending 1-2 messages per phone number max. Telnyx does not work for this use case.

signalwire definitely supports inbound, you just set up a webhook pointing to your server to catch the incoming payload. look up their laml docs. but honestly, buying a huge batch of numbers and immediately sending 1-2 texts from each is going to trigger fraud filters on almost any mainstream api. if you try this on a brand new signalwire or plivo account you will probably get suspended before you even finish. you might want to space out the provisioning or look at some smaller voip resellers who use bandwidth or peerless under the hood but have weaker automated fraud detection.

What type of outbound traffic would you be sending? I know some providers who do both, with non voip numbers.
 
Non-VOIP + bulk + 48h rental is the part that kills it. Anything with a clean API is almost always VoIP underneath, even if the panel makes it look “mobile”. Real non-voip is usually SIM based, and nobody serious is going to spin up a bunch for 2 days unless you’re paying setup + deposit, not just per number.

If you only need 1-2 sms per number, maybe look at SIM bank / mobile modem guys, but expect manual onboarding and ugly API/webhook stuff. Mainstream CPaaS won’t fit this without getting flagged.

Most sim banks are flagged by carriers automatically now. Cracked down hard.
 
@jrodrguez Non-VOIP with proper inbound/outbound + API for only 48h is basically not a normal rental product, it’s SIM inventory. If some seller says they can instantly provision a big batch of “US mobile” numbers with no paperwork, run line-type/HLR checks on samples first... lot of them are just VoIP dressed up in the panel. For 1-2 sends per number your issue won’t be volume, it’ll be the pattern. Better ask for a small paid test batch and proof of carrier type before paying bulk, otherwise you’ll waste time on numbers that look good until you actually use them.
 
Twilio will ban you. I've a good provider.

I'm not allowed to sell anything here because of my rights, idk how i can recommend you something what i dont want to leak 4free...

I tested it over years with high risk bulk sms spam incl spoofing, it's still working but i don't give it 4free and i dont sell it here because of the ruleset of bhw.

If you need it if i reach my VIP Status here i will sell it for the right price.
