**From BlackHat to building something I can actually keep.**
Been in IM for ~14 years. Last 5 freelancing as a dev — reversing, automation, browser/Android/iOS (root/JB), all of it. I'm done with the BlackHat/GreyHat grind. I want something long-term that I can scale by pushing traffic, not something that dies every time a platform sneezes.
So here's the plan, and I'm logging it publicly to keep myself honest.
**The goal:** $5,000 MRR as a hard floor. I'm giving myself **24 months**.
**The play:** A portfolio of small iOS apps monetized with subscriptions (RevenueCat), promoted mainly by reuploading/creating viral TikTok + IG Reels. Speed and volume over perfection — ship fast, validate, kill or scale.
**The stack:**
- Claude Code ($100/mo) — my dev co-pilot, since iOS/Swift is new to me
- Mac Mini M1 8GB/256GB — too small, I know. I'll push it as far as it goes; if it becomes the bottleneck I'll grab an M4 24GB/512GB
- Apple Developer Account ($99/yr)
**Traffic:** mostly TikTok/IG Reels. I plan to make the videos myself. I'm bad at it right now — that's part of what I'm here to learn.
**Where I'm starting from:** solid dev background, but iOS/Swift/SwiftUI is brand new to me. So expect a real learning curve in the first weeks. I'd rather show the messy start than fake a highlight reel.
I'll update this every week — what I planned, what I actually shipped, and what slowed me down (the 8GB Mac is going to be a recurring character).
Let's see if a tired BlackHatter can go legit and hit $5k MRR in 2 years. Following along welcome.
---
## How this log works
- I plan the week on **Monday/Tuesday**: what I want to get done.
- The same file recaps the **previous week**: what actually got done + blockers.
- One file per week, grouped by year.
### 2026
- [Week 22] — Start of the journey: learn SwiftUI, app structure, test 8GB Mac limits
---
I will try use all @nakamura knowledge as case study, so keep thumbs - it's long process to become dedicated to one thing for so long - BECOME BETTER 1% EVERYDAY.
