How do you guys find trusted domain sellers here?

Hey, pretty new here. Been browsing around for aged domains but honestly not sure who to trust besides just looking at feedback.


What else do you look for before buying from someone? Post count? How long they've been here? Any red flags to watch out for?

Well I might be slightly biased, but of course, how long has the user been selling here, overall knowledge of the seller and the most of course the feedback.

I presume most sellers will allow you to see the domain names before purchase, so you know what you are buying.
 
Just go with @Nargil as he is the most trusted and experienced aged domain provider here. He has a list of premium domains that pack some serious punch but with power comes price.

If you are looking for cheap less than $100 domains then I don't think he is your guy.
 
Nargil has been selling domains for so many years, I've never seen anyone call him out for bad practice. I dunno what his current stock is like but for someone trusted, he is the person that springs to mind. There may well be other trusted sellers tho.
 
Looking at feedback is a good start, but you should also check their account badge (like Jr. VIP or Marketplace Seller) and how long theyve actually been active on the forum. If someone has a high post count but its all generic "thanks for sharing" style spam, thats a red flag.

The biggest thing to watch out for is how they present the domain metrics. If they refuse to share the actual domain name via DM for you to do your own independent audit, walk away. Trusted sellers will have no problem letting you vet the domain properly before money changes hands.
 
Yes age of account, post count any positive reviews. Jr vip is 147$ per year so like you can buy something of about that price from new jrvip sellers.
Most important is read the sales page, you get what pay for.
As always only buy from jrvip or above.

Buy through a member that has an active domain sales thread here. It means they have been vetted somewhat. But even so, if you start a transaction here on BHW and it goes south, you have the Dispute Resolution section you can use.

Aside from feedback, another thing that I would consider is the presence of backlinks, archive history, and spam by the domain. It could be good to buy from a long-time member, but what truly matter more is the value of the domain itself. Avoid going for really cheap deals or accounts without verification.
 
Whenever I buy something, I always make sure to check the seller's rep, read past reviews, and look at their transaction history. Using a reliable escrow service also adds that extra peace of mind
 
feedback helps, but check the domains yourself. wayback, backlink profile, anchor text and indexing status matter more than seller post count. plenty of old accounts sell junk. clean history beats forum reputation every time.

Trust but verify is the best procedure. Look up the domain you intend on buying yourself.
 
You can look around the site for sellers, it's a good start. Sellers here are confirmed for legitimacy before they can go around providing the service (the ones on the right channels, not random accounts). But like someone pointed out, absolutely verify even if you do trust a provider. The actual post is from some time ago but people are still stumbling upon this post so yeah.
 
@Nargil is the goat on BHW about domain sales, if I'd buy an aged domain, I'd simply talk to him

whenever i buy domain, i first check the seller reputation, read reviews, and look at their transaction history. for security i use a trusted escrow service.
 
Feedback is important but I also check the domain's history backlink profile and whether it still has indexed pages.

A big red flag is when a seller avoids sharing metrics or screenshots or when the backlink profile looks heavily spammed.

i usually look at their trade history and how other members talk about them but not just the feedback score.
If they have been active for a while and completed a lot of deals without issues then it is a good sign.
but for aged domains i always check the domain history myself before buying.
