Google is updating its Shopping ads on Google Search to include product descriptions. Advertisers need to write better descriptions to increase engagement, instead of just relying on the default product data from their website. Previously, many advertisers spammed keywords directly in the product description.

It's not a bad update at all. It will benefit everyone

It's honestly a great opportunity, that actually answers customer pain points, ensuring your Shopping ads stand out through clarity rather than just technical manipulation of the product feed

That's right, a great update for all advertisers.
Has your ad account been updated?

Of course, my friend, you solved all the problems I previously needed to address in the ads.
Has your account been updated?

This is actually nice and those who adapt early and test different copy styles will likely see better engagement than those still relying on generic product feeds.

This is a good thing, give you more space to disqualify clicks as well. When I’m not focusing on CTR i will put things in my ad copy to try and keep people from clicking that i know won’t convert. For example If someone is looking for a grey computer, i make sure i mention the computer is black

That's right, this ad update is extremely optimized, helping us save a lot of costs.

That's right, this is the most reasonable advertising update ever.

Interesting shift - descriptions matter more than ever. I'm testing two variants: straight specs vs benefits and real-world use. Early CTR looks better with the story-ish copy, CPA's still mixed. Curious how strict Google stays with low-quality text - guess they'll crack down on filler soon. Anyone else trying different copy styles yet?
They're using AI to filter out low-quality text so it won't be displayed and distributed to viewers.

Yeah, this is a solid nudge to stop stuffing keywords. Real product descriptions help, not just for CTR but for conversions. We tested adding clear specs and use cases in Shopping ads and conversions improved, CAC dropped a bit. Not sure how strict Google will be, but early testers who tried different copy styles seem to win.
Excellent, that's a great approach.
I'll try your method.
