I think what's also really important and underestimated is the amount of outbound engagement that you need to have also within your niche.

In terms of automation; using API modules to schedule posts. In terms of just posting; not changing the hash and meta data before reposting content. Make sure to change that for the posts to get good reach.

I see people just posting randomly without a clear theme. Not interacting with viewers and expecting rapid growth is a mistake on Instagram.

Niche is important. Some niches get higher engagement and reach than others by default. And it’s also important to know what is currently working in your niche.

Biggest mistake is posting random content without a clear niche and then expecting consistency to fix it. IG cant push an account that confuses both users and algorithm. Most people also quit too early before data starts to compound.

The two major ones are:

Not posting consistently
Not sticking to a niche making the page feel random and not worth following

I think people don't follow the consistency means IG algorithm is pretty simple, but the failures stuck in it.

Biggest mistake is probably posting without a clear direction bro, u should build an overall image for your profile and be consistent with that image

Not having a content strategy. The era of throwing everything at it, and hoping something sticks is gone. You need to first lay out yout strategy, and implement, and improve it

Pick a niche that booms and STICK WITH IT. It may take weeks to lift off, the algorithm hates when you start switching things and concepts mid-growth.

The biggest mistake I see on instagram is treating the platform like a dumping ground where you just post and forget about it, it's pointless to have a hundred posts if you never reply to comments or visit your followers' profiles, the algorithm now rewards accounts that build community, not those that just churn out content.

Another fatal mistake is not having a clear niche, posting recipes one day, sunsets another, and memes another confuses people, nobody knows why they follow you, and therefore they don't, instagram rewards specialized accounts, where users know exactly what they'll find on your profile, and the one that saddens me the most is neglecting Instagram SEO, today, the platform functions like a search engine, people search for recipes and tutorials, if you don't use keywords in your captions or specific hashtags related to your niche, you're missing out on a ton of free traffic, those who only upload photos without paying attention to that are doomed to disappear.

Most growth problems come from weak hooks, inconsistent posting, unclear niche positioning, and focusing on aesthetics instead of engagement and retention. Instagram rewards content that keeps people watching, reacting, sharing, and returning.

They are three main ones, nuying bot followers, lacking consistency, trying to pull in everyone. Find a niche, post consistently, and engage followers in comments, and DMs if needed. You'll grow your account better that way
