Are AI articles still ranking with basic backlinks?

I've been testing a few AI-written articles recently with only basic internal links and a couple backlinks.
Some pages indexed and ranked faster than expected.
Curious what's working for others right now with AI content SEO?

AI articles can definitely rank if the keyword difficulty is low and the structure is solid. I’ve noticed that as long as you edit them to add some unique insights or data, they hold their positions much better than just raw AI output with basic links.

Yes, AI articles can still rank with basic backlinks in 2026, especially for low-competition keywords.

So it sounds like your AI articles are actually doing pretty well. That's super interesting, especially if you're keeping the backlinks simple and still seeing results, so maybe AI content is still the way to go for now, at least for some people

Yes, AI articles still rank if the search intent, structure, and topical relevance are solid. But basic backlinks alone are not enough long term. Pages doing best now usually combine AI drafts with human edits, internal linking, EEAT signals, fresh updates, and some unique insights or data. Thin mass-produced AI content is getting filtered much harder after recent updates.

Yes, AI artical can still rank well if the content is actually useful and matches more intent. We have seen pages perform with just solid on page seo, internal linking and a few relevant backlinks. In my experience combining AI drafts with human editing and steady link growth gives the best long term results.

Yes, AI articles are still ranking if they’re useful, well-edited, and match search intent, even with basic backlinks. Google cares more about quality, originality, and user value now, not whether the content was written by AI

AI content can rank fast if it’s well-structured and internally linked, but it stays stable only when you add real value through edits and uniqueness.

What I’m noticing too is AI content still works if the page actually satisfies intent and doesn’t feel mass-produced. A lot of people seem to be getting better results now with fewer articles but stronger topical relevance

I’m curious to know what strategies are currently working for others when it comes to AI content SEO. Are simple setups still effective, or are you combining AI content with stronger authority and link-building strategies?
Interesting to hear that. I'm seeing something similar so far, especially on lower competition keywords.

Basic internal linking plus decent formatting seems to help more than expected. Still testing long term stability though, especially after future updates.

However, AI content is still likely to perform well if it has utility, proper structure, relevance, and even some uniqueness or human touch. In reality, those who have witnessed constant rankings on Google must be combining the use of AI content along with topic relevance, internal linking, and EEAT criteria.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm seeing as well. AI content alone seems a bit hit or miss, but once it's properly aligned with search intent and cleaned up manually, the results look much more stable.

Internal linking and relevance definitely seem to make a noticeable difference.

Getting AI content to index and rank initially isn't the bottleneck right now; it's the retention.

What you're seeing is basically the "honeymoon phase." Google is testing those pages in the SERPs to see how users interact with them.

If the content is raw AI fluff, the bounce rate will eventually catch up to you and those fast rankings will vanish.

Basic links get you in the door, but heavy editing for search intent and solid internal architecture is what keeps you there.

Even with the rise of AI writing, content can still perform well when it genuinely helps readers, stays relevant, and feels naturally written. Many websites that consistently rank on Google seem to combine AI-generated content with strong topical coverage, internal linking strategies, and EEAT-based optimization.

For me humanizing AI content works the best because AI content is too generic and you may rank at first but you won't stay ranked.

AI content can still work well if it’s edited properly and actually helps the user.

What seems to be working now is combining AI with human improvements — better structure, real examples, updated info, and strong internal linking.

Raw AI spam usually fades fast, but useful content still performs.

Ai content can rank but human written is best then Ai. if anyone use to Ai content so, anyone should be fully edit and improve it.

There are many factors that influence rankings, such as KD, your site's DR, and your overall topical authority or relevance. If you are simply testing the difference between AI-written and human-written content in isolation, I don't believe there is much of a basis for comparison.

AI content can rank well now if it’s useful and matches user intent.
But usually the best results come from a mix of AI + human editing: structure, examples, real experience, and internal linking.

Yeah, that's a good point. Initial indexing and rankings seem easier compared to actually holding those positions long term.

The pages that stayed more stable for me were usually the ones with better formatting, clearer intent matching, and stronger internal linking rather than just basic AI output.
