Anyone here actually monetizing AI generated electronic music on spotify?

I have a client who came in focused on the usual stuff, building a setup around playlists and doing placement like most people do. nothing new there. but somewhere along the way he started testing AI-generated electronic music and kind of shifted direction
what caught my attention is that he started seeing results without relying on external artists, no back and forth, no constant need to feed playlists with third-party tracks
i’ve always been more on the distribution and behavior side, building structure, pushing the right signals, getting the algorithm to “understand” the consumption… but i never really went deep into creating my own catalog to monetize directly
looking at it from the outside, it feels like there’s room there, especially in niches like ambient, lo-fi, more “functional” electronic stuff
would be good to hear if anyone here is running this consistently, not just testing, but something that actually pays
also for those already monetizing, what are you using behind the scenes? not talking about the obvious tools like suno, but actual production stack, mixing, variations… what holds up when you scale?

does it make more sense to invest time into production now, or is playlist still the main leverage point?

i have few albums on spotify with ai music But only few streams in last 3 years. I am doing youtube playlists to get views on my music. Do you automate spotify playlists creation process ?

i think you’re trying to solve it from the outside in
youtube playlists can send traffic, but if spotify doesn’t like what happens after the click, it just dies there
when i mentioned playlists in my post, it wasn’t really about creating them at scale or automating the process itself. that part is easy
what actually makes a difference is how the listening session behaves once someone is inside. if the tracks don’t hold, if people skip, if the flow feels off, the platform just stops pushing it
that’s usually why you see projects sitting for years with no movement
your idea of using youtube isn’t wrong, but alone it won’t fix it

cutting against the grain here but the "no back and forth with artists" thing is where id slow down a bit, because that friction is actually what keeps catalog quality from turning into a commodity grind. ran a small test pushing purely AI-generated ambient/electronic tracks across 3 label clients last year, got decent stream numbers early but algorithmic editorial placement dropped off hard around week 6 because the tracks clustered too similarly in audio fingerprinting and spotify's systems basically stopped differentiating them. the distribution and behavior angle OP mentioned is the real play, the music itself is almost secondary to how youre seeding listener data and which playlist typologies youre targeting first

most of the music distro will just show view count like this.

i am doing testing with cpa offer i have added this video to playlists. Watch time is only 13% But with youtube most likely the ad will be play first before video so i am getting paid even if user does not watch full video with music distro.

nah from my pov AI music still works, but it’s hard to keep engagement consistent over time. just take a look at the AI generated video trend, they lose interest really fast~

I create lofi music using suno. The music does not matter much since i am using youtube playlists to get views.

AI music, there are some users who do that; however you might have to check the BlackHatWorld Marketplace and see the software options for to make good music.

I've totally heard about people making bank on spotify with chill lofi vibes, but the real question is def how you make sure it's not just basic ai sound and actually holds up when you're trying to scale
