Are Facebook pages still good for free traffic in 2026?

In my opinion, Facebook pages still work for free traffic, but it’s much harder now without using reels or some ads.

Free traffic is still possible with Facebook pages but reach has declined over time, so consistent posting, encouraging real engagement and using short form content like reels tend to work much better than simply sharing links
 
Free traffic still works, but it's much slower for new pages. I've seen growth using Reels and engaging in relevant groups, but it took months of consistency. Ads speed it up significantly. But what's your niche? Some niches get better organic reach than others.
 
It's easy to trend on Facebook these days; sometimes all you need to do is post a funny article that resonates with today's youth, and it's already being recommended.

It still works to some extend, but I don't think it's worth the effort anymore.

That's a pretty good idea, buddy. Free traffic from Facebook pages is still effective, but it doesn't generate as much revenue as it did in previous years. Growth accelerated significantly when using Reels, joining relevant groups, and advertising.
 
Yes, it's always been like that. Facebook is becoming increasingly competitive with TikTok, so if you're a really good content creator, you'll get a lot of free traffic.

The "post a link and pray" era is a fossil; if you aren't dropping 1080p Reels, the algorithm basically treats you like a ghost. Facebook pages can be a great tool if you want to grow ORGANICALLY. Paid ads work better if you want to scale up FAST and/or convert the traffic into paying customers. In my opinion both have their usages, however, facebook pages convert traffic to paying customers much slower than ads because the pages need to be scaled up significantly.
 
According to me, free traffic from Facebook pages isn’t dead, but it’s not easy like before. If you just post links only, nothing really happens. You need engaging posts or reels to get reach, otherwise growth is slow.

Free Facebook traffic isn’t dead, it just evolved. The old method of dropping links and expecting clicks doesn’t work anymore. Now it’s all about native content, engagement, and especially reels to trigger the algorithm.
 
In my opinion it depends on your niche, but yes its very good.

In low-competition niches, you can rank with solid content and minimal links. But in competitive spaces like finance, health, or SaaS, backlinks are still a major factor, just higher quality ones.
