You should start with a small website and low competitive kw and try to make practically seo on that site because seo has not a fixed path to do.. it will vary niche by niche..

I as per my opinion go through a solid portfolio and try to make adv as soon as possible.

Start with basic seo and go slowly and try to build link continuously..
