Alright thanks. That still leaves the issue of my host having problems with the massive amounts of traffic (bots) that come into the site. I'd be fine with massive amounts of traffic if they weren't bots that earned no money. Is there a way I can prevent them from accessing my site?

I have a large tumblr account with around 15k followers. I've set up a outside site to try to monetize my account without risking tumblr banning it. I use a bit.ly account to track them. Around 400-500 clicks came from the tumblr dashboard, or from a tumblr blog. Another 37 thousand have come...

Direct the traffic to an outside site you own. I experimented with ads directly on my Tumblr a ton, and they always ended up being banned. I now have around 20 tumblrs directing to an outside site making me around $8-9 a day, with no bans in around 5 months.

I can't confirm that all pictures wont upload, but I do know that I've been unable to post any pictures via URL.
