I guess that really determines the various opinions on this. I guess though at the end of the day, it matters what they do and how well they do it.. not how "cool" they are. One of the best things about ZenDesk is they do this horrible and great at the same time.

This is an important lesson: You can't just jump into a large project like this without any knowledge and even more so without a budget. You need one of those. If you want to learn how to program web app, I suggest learning Ruby on Rails.
