If the keyword has a low number of searches you can expect a lot of dancing around. I've also found that any new keywords will experience a lot of dancing as google tries to determine your correct position.
There seems to be some mixed opinions here, I have found similar mixed opinions elsewhere on the net. The site it is being directed to what looks like a new version of their old site, it is definitely not a spam redirect.
It seems intuative that the link juice is only passed to the new domain...

I am looking to register a domain I found for my PBN and I noticed that it had a 301 redirect to a non-spammy site as the last page on the site before being deindexed. Does this affect the quality of the domain as a PBN? Something about losing link juice?
