If your webpage need external resources you could add a dns-prefetch in your html code. While loading the page content it makes dns-requests to the external resources, and if the webpage needs the resources it already knows the ip's to these resources so it can skip the dns-requests. Check this...

If you're running your own server on let's say Apache on Linux: from the commandline: tail-f /var/log/apache2/example.com.log It displays vistors in real-time. I can't think of another way as except your server logs, but they're not in real time. GoogleAnalytics won't track hits from pictures...
