By now, BHW should have a good amount of data on spam/genuine threads. Add IP to it. You should have a solid base for building a anti-spam bot. At the very least, we can blur out call-to-actions (phone,email,etc). Should reduce the incentive.

Depends on your audience really. In-depth type articles generally start with an analogy, draw a scenario or a short story. Idea is to entice readers asap. Sports like articles generally start with facts. Same goes for business-savy ones. Mix it up. Follow cues from articles that you enjoyed...

Not sure what you meant by protecting ip from google cloud platform? Did you mean google spider/bot? In any case, cloudflare does mask your ip. That is your domain will show their ip address. But when you are visiting your ip (not domain) - you are bypassing cloudflare and visiting your server...

Have you seen tactics uber used with referral codes? If your business model allows, you can implement them. But as always filling that design gap is crucial.
