I use free social media traffic. Got a solid online community (see reply above). I do normal niche sites. Viral is hard to do for me since you have to stay updated and always needs fresh new topics. I don't have motivation nor temperament for that.

My cash cow is an FB page with 3 million likes and, 4 million monthly engagement and 20 million monthly reach. I get paid for direct ads. I also have a number of website earning from adsense and other CPC. Some of them are organic.

It's a blog for a popular brand mostly catering to kids (and lots of adults too). I'm doing rewrites of existing articles. I'm planning to build a solid online community out it. Not looking into JV for any of my projects at the moment but I may in the future.

In my early years, I was working 16 hours a day (9 hours for a day job and 7 hours for IM). Years of hard-work paid off. Now I can sit for months doing nothing and expect cash to come it. I guess that's what IM is all about. Good luck achieving your goals too.

I've been doing IM since 2010. Right now I'm on a steady monthly income of 25-30k USD mostly from AdSense (using social media traffic). One can say I'm fairly successful at this business. But success made me lose my focus and become unreasonably lazy. Right now I'm only working 6 hours a week...
