If you get small package on a once off how long would you expect the links to last ! As you said that they were rented ( I think ! ),do all the links finish at the end of a month or what's the story re how long would you expect them to have an impact on the SERPS ?

Big G is now giving more importance to social links and as they are becoming more important it is possible that you don't have a great mix ie social and +1 ,and no fresher links and as a result newer and fresher sites with plenty of link building and new fresher and contniuus content has gone up...
