Giving 'investment' advice to Warren Buffet...the irony. I'd say follow the advice you gave in chapter 1 of 'The Intelligent Investor', that is to say - Don't confuse speculation with investment.
Some choice quotes of yours include 'I want to rank in less than 2 months' with 'I just want to get...
Well said! On all counts.
The hostility the OP is getting is interesting too, ranging from people who feel aggrieved that he would dare provide potentially valuable information for anything other than free...to the outright dismissive, based on no testing or rational counter argument. To be...
I'm not attesting to the veracity of this as a ranking technique but this so called 'semantic graph' can be made using the AdWords keyword tool in the following way:
1. Take a base term, run it through they keyword search tool.
2. Note down the top 10 (or 100 for more statistical accuracy - if...
Almost certainly he hasn't, it's going to take several weeks if not a month or more before anything could be proven either way. It takes time for Google to crawl / re-crawl 4-5 times and make alterations to page metrics.
I'll admit I'm skeptical of this too but not so cynical as to dismiss it...
Are you implying that you already have? Or are you dismissing this without testing it? It's too juicy a possibility to dismiss out of hand and I can't find a flaw in the logic... but each to their own.
Firstly, what an intriguing post, thanks for sharing. I'm about to put this into action on a test site, so it'll be interesting to see the results before I get too excited by this. That being said, it's one of the most original pieces of writing I've seen on BHW in a number of years. The silence...
Here you go my man! Enjoy :) to run it, copy and paste this code into a text file and name it 'mylinkbuilder.py' and save it in a folder. Then go to command prompt, navigate to the folder there and run it with the command 'python mylinkbuilder.py'...easy if you're on Mac or Linux, you may need...
The IP explanation would be a huge deal in terms of the search algorithm, I've never heard about anything like that but maybe someone who is more familiar with some of the Google search patents out there can chime in. To go against that theory though, I used 2 separate VPN providers to check a...
Same here, if it is a split test, things are going to get ugly! Yes exactly it's the individual pages disappearing, it's just happened to me again this evening but when the page is searched for using an alternate search term, all is fine and the page is there nice and indexed...so a cache'ing...
Suggestions noted but as I mentioned in the original post, it's often too quick for software like SerpBook to pick up (though sometimes not). All checking is done with clear cookies, different browsers, IPs and platforms, I do my due diligence.
No the ages vary a fair bit, some are 5+ years old with solid authority, some 1+ year old, some new and everything in between. There's nothing to connect these websites either which makes me think that the behavior may be widespread.
Over the past 4 weeks I've noticed that across a large number of unconnected (i.e no cross pollination of link sources) personal/client websites that I actively monitor, pages are randomly disappearing from Google for a number of hours and then re-appearing with no observable consequence to...
