If you're serious about security analysis then check out "Nessus Vulnerability Scanner". The last time I used it (which was a few years ago) there was a free version available. It's not the easiest tool in the world to use, but it's extremely thorough.
It depends what you're trying to do. If you want to scrape results from Google, then you need a list of proxies to use (so your software can quickly rotate IPs). If you're okay to switch IPs once an hour, then a VPN service is okay.
A VPN is good for hiding your identity if you don't need to...
I'm surprised no one mentioned disabling 3rd party cookies. No matter what browser your use you should consider blocking 3rd party cookies if you don't want to be tracked (I'm using FF BTW). All browsers have a setting for this.
3rd party cookies is how Google tracks your surfing on any page...
Cheebee, what tool are you using to create your sitemap? I use Inspyder Sitemap Creator. If it won't crawl your pages, contact them for help (they are good and they helped me solve a few indexing issues my site was having).
I was hoping someone could shed some light on an unusual situation I have. I've got a website with a domain for one of my products, it looks like this:
www,product-name,com
When I search for "product name" on Google.com, Google.co.uk and Google.com.au it comes up at #1...for Google.ca it...
In rank reporter, it has the tools built in to edit the search engine templates yourself if you want. So if they release a new version and stop updating the old one, you could update it yourself. (From what I understand, Google rarely changes the SERP layouts, so I doubt this will be much of an...
Just think about it: Most people fail to realize with WSOs is that if the idea/method was that great, the WSO author would be out there using his/her technique to rake in money. They wouldn't be selling it for $7 as a WSO. (Not to mention, if it does work even a little bit, you're still going to...
I think there is a bit of a misconception about this software. To answer veheme and pyronaut, it doesn't find backlinks for you, you use it along side your regular link building activities.
You add the links that you've built into it as you create them. It goes out and checks them for you so...
Did you clear your cookies before checking this SERP? Google may be showing you customized results (I know it usually shows me sites I've visited before on the first page...which can be super annoying). Open up a fresh "Incognito" Chrome window and see if the result is the same.
You won't be able to stop chargebacks, even with that policy (because with an ebook there is no way to prove it was delivered which is what you'll need to win a chargeback. Showing that you emailed out the ebook won't be valid). A chargeback is worse than a refund because not only do you lose...
If a user is logged into their Google account while searching, Google no longer provides the keywords in the "referrer" link which is why you get (not provided). No analytics package can determine the keywords that were used if it's not in the URL referrer.
It's becoming a huge problem (I use...
There is nothing to be scared of. There is a lot of hysteria in this thread.
First off, there are two versions of the Google notification going around. One states that you have unusual links ON your website, the other states that you have unusual links pointing TO your website.
If you have...
