I have a site that i am tracking in google Analytics, and the top most search keyword is (not provided). Does google not know what the search term people are using? What the hell is up with this?

If a user is logged into their Google account while searching, Google no longer provides the keywords in the "referrer" link which is why you get (not provided). No analytics package can determine the keywords that were used if it's not in the URL referrer.

It's becoming a huge problem (I use piwik on my sites). Nearly 75% of my referrals have no keyword data. You'd think that since Analytics is a Google service they'd have a way around that, but perhaps this is just another way Google is cracking down on SEO.
