You are correct and incorrect at the SAME time! Most directories are JUNK. Yet, you can use YARP and you can also keep them PRIVATE like mine and thus, the way I did them, Google seems to LOVE them! Private back link placements work wonders is all I can prove---

You are asking a question that cannot be answered unless you have the niche. WHAT??? If the niche is very popular, then you do a combo of all three. If the niche is not that popular, then you would choose what works IN THAT NICHE. Not to mention web 2.0 doesn't work like it used too work....
