No. For example you write an article about a product and say that product suck etc...and do a link. Google analyse your article and define if it's positive or negative review :D

I don't know the answer but you can try to find out some bad reviews which could have been made against your sites. I also have lost position, can't explain it yet.

Even if Big G doesn't follow nofollow links, I think it's important to get some of them because, in my opinion, a perfect referencement (only follow backlinks) is impossible and Big G know that.
