The thing about 303 is that it is supposued to work like a 301 or 302 redirect but for some reason search engines doesn't understand it and all the spider sees is a blank page/ the old content, where users are propperly redirected to the correct page.

301 redirect tells the search engine spiders that the site/page has been permenantly moved to a new location

it will be counted as an authority link, but only if the expired domain is still indexed by google when you buy it and redirect it, if it becomes deindexed all backlink juice and authority is diregarded by google and it will be treated as if it was just another new domain
