Any opinions on why landing pages are better than direct linking?

I must say I wonder the same thing. That said, you would think that in testing landing pages someone must have tried the soft sell... Since it isn't often used, it must not work on CB type items. I, too would like to hear some knowledgeable opinions.

Just a thought... While it is true that some CB products can be downloaded for free, what percentage of people would actually think to search for a .pdf. But, I agree with Mancar, if the merchant can't prevent this kind of thing from going down, find one that can.
