I am at a global tech company, we have 8 language versions of the same site. We use subdirectories with county and language codes in them (ex. /us/en/) and hreflang tags on the pages.

Is your store on your subdomain or the third party subdomain? Is it: yourstore.thirdparty.com or yourstore.yourdomain.com If the later, then they are just hosting your subdomain on their side, they should just be able to use your domain.
