You can replace � with ' using Notepad++ or (better) by using Replace Pioneer which is free and can do a lot of things. Look for batch replace, drag and drop files, it's pretty straightforward.

I would say it's not hard to learn how to use it, especially if you had previous experience with other software. You can simply use a random site to do some testing before trying it on your own sites and only do this when you know exactly what you're doing.

Nothing can do things like Xrumer (but not everyone is willing to learn how to use it). Other great tools are GSA, Senuke and Scrapebox. I also use Content Foundry and TBS for generating content.

Find a couple of sites where you can do some blog commenting (preferably sites related to your niche), add some social bookmarking (but not too much at once), try some social signals from FB and Google. Add some tier 2s if possbile (as much as you can).
