If you're redirecting with a 301 flag and not 302, the search engines will remove the abc page from their index. But it may take some time to do so. Preventing bots from crawling the page (robots.txt) will not remove the page from their index, especially if there are links pointing to the page...

Check your robots.txt or any crawl errors in WBT. This is not normal.
