Thanks for the replies Nargil and agent-x, So in essence as they are indeed located in the EU they should "by law" not be able to use the #1 in their search results either? That being the case who do I contact to get it removed etc ? MUCH APPRECIATE all your help !

One last thing - the rival company have added " #1 choice for tent hire" ....etc to their search result. Are they allowed to claim that they are the #1 choice? I thin kthe answer is no but nothing can be done ? If so I could aslo add something similar to "#1 choice/company" to the clients...

Thanks for that Nargil, It's not trademarked. I had an inkling that was the case - but until now was not at all sure. And yes I agree I just need to keep one step ahead of SEO. So in essence I could use their full domain name etc on a landing page of the directory site as they have no trademark...
