Anyone can confirm this? A i year old is the same as a totally brand new domain, what about a 3 year old domain? Unless backlinks etc, no different than a brand new domain?

What about renewing a 1 year old domain that does not have any backlinks that I already have, is it worth keeping as it has aged one year already, if I renew it I have spent 25 dollars for 2 years. Or should I let it go and pick up a similar but new domain later when I need it for about 12...

I obviously don't plan on buying domains from non trusted websites, its just that I want to know what happens with a domain if I buy from a company/website that shuts down.
