Paypal is a google protected domain, you wont be able todo anything to them via the serps, they are too powerful. That limit is faced by everyone.

good on ya OP for not going ahead with the hack and even notifying the competitors owner his site was vulnerable, you may not get any financial gain out of his, but deep inside you know you gained something bigger and better. Integrity.. There is no price to that. :)

i think pagerank of that particular page matters more.. if all sites/pages are from same ip, then google will obviously give you less juice.

Google is trying to weed out low quality Adsense sites. If you have a site that scrapes content off other sites with Adsense on it, then Google is targetting you.
