Seconded, when we did a whole site remodel, our site fell down in rankings for 2-3 weeks, then we came back better then before after the time. Wait a couple of weeks, you should see some improvements.

Go for different Keywords, if you have to many images with the same alt text it can look spammy.

Cut it down, only do a few every month, otherwise the Google Monster will think you are a cookie and eat you. ;)

I have tried both on our sites, and found Yoast easier to use.

Agreed, Google Places is highly recommend if you have local businesses. We have listing attached to employee addresses to increase our scale.

1)those results are only from google maps that is correct, and it is also concidered organic SEO. 2) If you want to hit the local keywords Location + Keyword is the way to go. Yes, you the best thing to do is create location pages for each major area you want to cover. Recommended right now...

If you haven't already, i would suggest installing the yoast seo plugin, it helped me out a lot. Seo Quake has a great toolbar that also helps alot, and look at Mozbar as the free version has some great tools to get you going.
