Highly competitive keyword went from #11, to #9. It may be higher, but my ranking software hasn't updated yet (ahrefs). Other keywords are bouncing around due to on-page changes, but going up :) Just added the blogs, so we'll see what happens! Good work so far

I wouldn't fake Yelp reviews. It's pretty well moderated by admins and the community alike. Hell, they throw up 'flags' for actual legit reviews all the time too. Just ask your customers to review your site, they usually will if you ask.

Had great results with some highly targeted niche pages from Vitarank. Went from page 2-3, to page 1 on two hard keywords. Ranking on avg around 7 or so, page one. Granted we ranked OK before his service, this was just a final push.

OP, really solid advice, mucho gracias for posting this thread. It's funny you mention Scoop.it, we were looking at starting a bunch of these for our sites as well. Seems to be an excellent platform for getting started. Has anyone else used it here? There's also CustomScoop, a bit pricey...

Spyglass is very nice, it's a great program, upgrading it to the paid soon. Market Samurai is what I've been in love with recently too. If you need competitive keywords that your competition uses, check out SpyFu. The free version isn't good, but their paid 'recon reports' has given us a ton...

My bad, I meant 'advanced', which is less than 'premium', no AP wires, but usually $199 a pop. If you buy a package deal from them, you can get a huge discount spread over a year or so. I don't know how you could possibly spend $1500 on PRweb, it's almost impossible, right?

LOL! I use PRweb, it's fantastic, but I only pay about $120 per release for the premium. Be sure to write good content and news sites will pick it up. There's a lot of free press release sites out there too that will do the same thing. I can post links if anyone is interested? PRweb is easy...
