Google Discover: Adding AMP = Great Results

I used the one on the right - AMP for WP. So far so good for core vitals. Went from ~60 to 90, and was able to make it look halfway decent without upgrading to the pro version, which has themes and more customizations. Don't know how long it'll take before I can know for sure if it worked, but...

    Is Google Sanbox Real?

Yep - one of my sites is dealing with #1 and has been for years. I keep plugging away but it's a bit soul-crushing lol.

    targetting wordwide with local domain

Do you see country-specific TLDs in your searches? I don't, personally, unless it's a niche topic that would necessitate it. What's wrong with using a .com or other non-country-specific TLD?

Organic Traffic Dead After Bot Attack

That's a crazy drop. I've never experienced it personally, so I don't know for sure what the correct response is. If it were me I'd probably just try and wait it out, especially if the site's not changed in quality or accessibility because of the attack. Are you thinking Google's suspecting you...

Thanks to all the non-bots for the insights :) Appreciated.

Has anyone had this happen to their site?

It's about 20 years old. Only recently have I posted anything to intentionally rank - say a few years. It's a SaaS/community site. There are ~1 million pages of forum posts and user images, but the bulk of the Google traffic goes to the blog, which is where those articles I mentioned ranking...

Has anyone had this happen to their site?

For sure. I've been targeting keywords that are both evergreen and others more newsworthy that aren't covered as well elsewhere. As I mentioned those are ranking quite well, but I swear every tool/article I rank must bring down the other pages that used to rank, because the overall traffic never...

Has anyone had this happen to their site?

Thanks for the info and tips. I'll probably do what others are and diversify my traffic sources. Definitely can't depend on Google one way or the other these days.

Has anyone had this happen to their site?

What I don't understand is how the new articles are ranking well, but the overall traffic remains the same. Big G has their thumb on the scale, for sure. I'd think of changing URLs but it has a good number of backlinks, a DR of 66, etc.

Issue Related To PPC And SEO

It's possible that any old code/database that was moved to the new site could be causing the issue. Even though you changed themes there could be a compromised plugin, for example. That offending URL is likely obfuscated in the code, which would evade a simple search. Have you tried Wordfence...

    Question about bots

If they start posting spam, probably. If your forum gets popular enough the spam can be hard to keep up with, and some can slip through the cracks. You might want to implement a CAPTCHA or Turnstile to save yourself admin time.

Has anyone had this happen to their site?

Hi all - I have an old site that includes a blog and other content - much of it user generated. My blog posts rank well, generally - even new ones. For example one of my recent articles outranks NBC News, Buzzfeed, Reddit. However, whatever I seem to do to write more articles or otherwise...

Virus URLs affecting our SEO for 7 months+

That sucks, sorry. Had this happen to one of my sites once, as well. Have you checked that the 301s are still working? If not, you could redirect them again. Since you're using Webflow (which I've never used), you'd have to set up a redirect through their dashboard. I think something like this...

    Starting a new sister site?

Thanks for the advice. So, back to the basics, I guess.
