I have bots regularly try to sign up to my forum, i allow them to register then lock their accounts, will having bot accounts affect SEO?

If they start posting spam, probably. If your forum gets popular enough the spam can be hard to keep up with, and some can slip through the cracks.

You might want to implement a CAPTCHA or Turnstile to save yourself admin time.

Can negatively impact your SEO by skewing user engagement metrics and potentially exposing security vulnerabilities. Implement CAPTCHA for registrations, regularly audit and remove bot accounts.

yes if effect but there is some practice which we follow to overcome

having bot accounts on your forum even if they are locked can potentially affect your SEO

Google will not like this as the bots will crawl the site but will not act like humans. This will affect your SEO, but it will be a mild change that will not last for long

My advice is to track the subnet the bots are using and ban it from your forum. This should help, along with taking similar hardening measures.

will not affect

You just have to keep an eye on it.

Bots can affect SEO. Use captchas or anti-bot plugins to avoid bot registration
