I prefer to start with a diversified service — I've been fond of Sherlock Hacks Google, Backlinks Storm, and Lady Gaga Google Rider — and let that sit for a month, then have 15 blog network links drip-fed at one link per day. I'm still new-ish to this myself, but my rankings seem stable...
