I was thinking about the same the other day. I grew all my accounts through bots. When botting stopped, I sold my 185K account because it didn't grow much organically. I kept my 540K account as it grows organically and I have a feeling that such accounts will be worth a lot more in near future.
I've always tried to avoid hitting the extremes i.e. 7.5k and 0. Not sure if it even helps, but none of my accounts have ever suspended and it's been working well for me. Don't feel the need to tamper with it.
I hardly ever unfollow to 0. I unfollow the non-followers and even if I decide to unfollow the people who are following me, I never bring it down to 0. It's almost always up until 500-700.
I would advise you to never reach that 7k following mark. I personally prefer unfollowing the non-followers after reaching about 4k followers. I'm currently at 250k followers, and I've never been suspended. It's a safe practice.

What's the engagement like on your biggest account? I have a few accounts with similar number of followers (210k,98k,48k) and just like you I'm focusing on growing them even more before monetizing. How many likes would you say a 200k account should be getting to be considered strong enough to...
3 of my blogs were flagged adult today (all 200k+ followers) and Tumblr asked me to reset my password as well. I don't post adult stuff and do everything manually. Weird.
