There's no way this is the detection mechanism. On my main account used for legitimate purposes, I only maybe look at reddit once a week. And I would guess most people do not browse reddit daily either.

As I said in the very beginning, I changed the password, email, and removed the google linked account. There must have been a recovery link sent to google or the email of the original owner.

There's no way I'm going to reddit support over this. I don't really have any extra proof that I owned the account. It wasn't a super valuable account anyway. Probably just not buy from the seller in the future.

Why would you use the api? It's easier of course. But easy is usually the worst reason.
