I hired a few VPNs and found that they must've been on various block lists. I suspect big sites are blocking entire Ip blocks.

It comes down to if it's too good to be true, it probably is!

How are your rankings doing for these niche sites? How are you sitting now in your keywords?

I agree, it can be done but you're probably best starting off using traditional freelance methods to build up some funds to then invest in niche sites/domains/etc.
