There's a lot of factors working against you here to be honest. 1. duplicate content. 2. free blog hosting (i dont care what others say, this hurts you) 3. you aren't ranking high yet for any terms. 4. terms you are ranking for aren't highly searched terms. just a few.

I've never seen bing or any other SE take longer than a different one with that plugin, they're always all instant for me even with a brand new site.

SE's hate duplicate content and you'll eventually be penalized by a panda update, don't do it.

If it doesn't work from changing the recent post count widget then you'll have to edit the theme itself as it's coded somewhere in that (can be theme specific).

I'd personally use one of the super cache plugins instead, though even with those you have to tweak them if you want real time content to show up as if you weren't running a caching plugin. Unless you're pushing a ton of visitors and need this it really isn't worth it imo.
