So...why people say not to buy domains with Fake PR?

Hi, I'm bidding on a good domain with around 200 refering domains, clean backlink profile, indexed, GOOD DA/PA, GOOD TF...but it has Fake PR, some sites say is a valid PR 7, others that is FAKE, I think 7 is a lot, so it's fake for sure, but for the quality of its backlinks is a PR4 or PR5 for...

Is very strange, I've checked in Ahrefs for lost/new links gained in the last month (the last time I checked the domain and was TF:27) and all still the same, only 1 new link gained from a directory.
