There are many ways to make money online. You can make a site, get traffic and then monetize it through adsense ads or affiliate sales. You can try offer your skills on fiverr.

Targeting is the key. Nobody will buy a product if he isn't interested in. Traffic from non relevant sites is converting very badly and you will need hundreds of thousands (or more) visitors to make a sale. But if you have traffic from expired domains, that have relevant traffic to your product...
