Seconding Blockchain for the same reason as above. I don't need fancy features or anything for my Wallet, just need protection with it, and Blockchain has the best protection I've found.

Im adding in the chorus here of not using PayPal to buy/sell/trade Bitcoins with, as the risk is very high. Everything else that was presented is solid advice, but the thing that you should know is not to use PP.

Bitcoins now are considered a speculative market, and mining them without a vast amount of power and resources is next to impossible for normal people. Essentially, buy low, sell high, or do some sort of service that you're willing to trade in for BTC.

It's my understanding that you can't actively protect against a DDoS attack since it's hundreds, or thousands of computers at once pinging a service every second using a list of proxies. So I mean, they can't protect FROM it, and shouldn't be punished for not being able to protect themselves...
