hey guys,

As the title explains. I was experimenting some techniques to bring traffic to my viral site.

Created a new reddit and imgur account and added an image on imgur. I copy pasted the whole article in the description (the one on viralnova) and my link at the bottom. Then I added that imgur link on reddit.

Its been only 17 minutes and that images have over 1100 views. Unfortunately, I didn't set up the analytics yet :( (wish I did).

There has been some traffic to my website because within the last 10 mins, 7 people have liked my page (I had only 1 like)

If this really works out, I am thinking of adding likejacker to my website and repeat this technique x 10-20 times a day. Lets see

I'll keep you updated :)

Ohh btw, the time I added my post on imgur, the rating dropped down to -9 points, now its 3.

You just copy/paste articles from Viralnova to your site?

Update: So I decided to install analytics and repeat the method.

This time however, things turned out differently. My post got too much hate :D. My initial rating was 15 points and now I'm down to 1. This post got around 700 views in the last 18 minutes and resulted in 63 unique visits and 84 pageviews on my blog.

In short, there's obviously a lot of value in this. But first we need to make sure what type of content the audience is looking for. My first post (got great response) was about a man who spend 6 months (each year) traveling around the work.

Second post was about a girl and how she's fighting with a disease she's suffering from.

Now, I am talking in hundreds. However I've seen people who are easily getting 100,000+ visits on each post. A saw a user who's total view count for all the posts he has published TODAY, is over 3 million.

I'll try this few more times and will let you know :)

Which subreddit do you use for this kind of articles?

so you post a link to imgur on reddit and then on imgur to your site?

For the post related to traveling , I used travel subreddit. However, you're missing the point. I guess its imgur which seems more powerful

yup
Do u buy any upvotes on reddit or is it natural?
I've just started testing it today, so spending money is out of the question. However, I guess it would be great to start with mature imgur and reddit accounts (which already have enough karma or whatever we say it)

I'm able to get thousands of views for a single pic on reddit, but it's hard tp monetize it.

nice. I tried something along the same lines but with youtube and reddit...no good results so far :D ...will try the imgur

Don't monetize, just get them to your fb page (using likejacker), monetizing stage would come later.
I posted this image two years ago.

I got 350k views.
I you was in my situation, what you'll add as a description?

I am doing the same, but a lot depends on subreddit - if post fits subreddit, you will get traffic to your site through imgur, without even posting whole article into imgur, if it doesn't fit you will have only few visits. So the whole magic here is not in the posting viral stuff to imgur, but posting into correct sibreddit.
